Comments and links to individual posts are currently browken, due to hacking hijinx over at, our parent corporation. Hopefully things will be restored to normal shortly. Send gifts and tributes to Laurie if you want him to fix it faster.

Edited to add: Any especially insightful or urgent comments are certainly welcome. Just send them over to clubsodaandsalt at gmail dot com. I promise to actually check that address.

I have started getting slammed with comment spam. Very annoying. 61 spam comments today alone. If I accidentally mark your comment as spam, please accept my apologies (and try again!).

Concerted effort

OK. I’m making a concerted effort to return to posting regularly. We’ll see how this turns out.

The Test Begins..Now

Posted by clubsodaandsalt on October 15, 2004

So, thanks to Laurie, we now have a way of uploading images that does not involve a painful method provided by moveable type. Huzzah! To celebrate, let’s take this new baby out for a spin.

I’ve been pretty bad about posting lately, despite an abundance of news. Sorry about that. Suffice to say that I’m still behind Kerry, and I was pretty psyched about last night’s debate.

In other news, I’m heading off ot a project in Seoul for the next 5 weeks. Hope to get some good pics in while I’m over there. I’ll be posting once I get the time to do so, so sit tight.

Spam Killing

Posted by clubsodaandsalt on June 23, 2004

On another note, does anyone know how to deal with comment spam? It is running rampant here, and it’s quite annoying.

Promises, Promises

Posted by clubsodaandsalt on May 19, 2004

So the reason for the 2 week gap a little while back is that I’ve been incredibly busy lately (though things have now slowed down a bit.. hence the renewed posting).

Anyway, I have a number of things I’ve been meaning to talk about, including Medicare Reform, Change For Change, Trinidad, and my shiny new Netflix subscription, as well as a request.

I will probably never get around to most of these, but let’s check one off the list — the request (how very self-interested of me). Lauren and I recently moved into new digs. Said new digs are very nice, thank you, and the West Village makes me want a dog (a horrible idea). Our walls, however, are bare. I’m looking for neat photos to frame and hang. If anyone’s got digital photos they’d like to send, send away. If you don’t have my e-mail address, leave a comment and I’ll give you one (I’m certainly not posting mine here to get tons of spam). Also, credit for doing this first must be given to Amy.

All those other promises will be kept in time, I swear.

Shiny new look!

Posted by clubsodaandsalt on June 8, 2003

Whew! Well, that was long and extraordinarily painful, but the transition from XOOPS to the somewhat more user-friendly MovableType is finally complete. Other than a few minor issues, the new system is working fine. The switch was done mainly because MT offers a much wider range of plugins and is general better-suited to what Ed wants this site to be. Templating is also an order of magnitude easier, so look out for a proper new look for the site in the near future.

All the archives are back up. User accounts from the old system no longer exist; however, anonymous comments aren’t allowed, so you’ll have to re-enter your data to comment and then let it remember you. Also, dates of comments were lost (well, not lost — I just can’t be arsed to correct them) so it looks like all commenting happened today 🙂
