Intolerable Cruelty

Posted by clubsodaandsalt on June 24, 2007

Earlier this year, the Lady and I went on a mini-roadtrip around Virginia and West Virginia. On our way into the latter, we made a stop at the Cestari Wool Festival in Churchville, VA (the lady wanted to purchase wool for a friend who is into knitting). It was there that I was confronted with the scene above, under a sign proudly proclaiming “Sheep and Child Ride Together!”

Now, I’m no PETA member myself, but this was pretty awful. Understand that the sheep were completely incidental to the ride. A machine moved the little carts around, the kids sat in that little saddle thing, and the sheep just had to stand there, unable to move. The sheep pictured above spent nost of its time struggling to free itself. It was heartbreaking.

You call your wife “the Lady”? Is that any way to treat a lady, much less one you’re supposed to care about? Seriously, dude, have a little respect for women.

  2. You think you’re soooo funny. Lady.
