Day is upon us

I guess it’s still the wee hours of the morning in Trinidad, but soon people will be rushing to the voting booths, all ready to choose a government for the next 5 years. If the polls are to be trusted, they’re looking for 5 more years, one way or another (Panday or Manning… either way we’re in for more crime, more bad planning, more corruption and waste). As much as I’ve complained about the COP (I mean, ankle bracelets? Really?), I’d still have to choose them as the least of the three evils today. Wish I were back home, if only to vote against Colm.
Ah well… at least we’ve got reasonably free and fair elections (though the various incidents in the last month have been unsettling…. an omen of trouble in the future?), and at least they’re about to be over with. Good luck, everyone. Remember, you get the government you deserve…
